The Confederation Portrait Gallery
67 King Street, Charlottetown PEI

This exhibition, which takes as its starting point the Robert Harris painting of the "Fathers of Confederation", features historical sculpture and painting, commissioned work by sculptor Elizabeth Sircom and painter Jane Reagh, as well as figurative paintings for sale by Jane Reagh and Brian Burke, (courtesy of Studio 21 Fine Art, Halifax), 1967 memorabilia and a model railroad. Focusing on the Maritime perspective, and the fiercely opposed arguments of Sir Charles Tupper and Joseph Howe, the show portrays some of the complexity and humour of the not-so-straightforward process that Confederation was during the 1864 to 1868 interval.

The Gallery is open daily, free of charge, Monday through Saturday 10:00am to 6:00pm, and Sunday 1:00pm to 6:00pm until Labour Day.
