August 13 – 19, 2012
The TD PEI Jazz and Blues Festival, in its 8th season, continues a tradition of presenting the very best Canadian artists and a diversity of programming. Focusing on mainstream jazz and blues, the festival also reaches out to latin, rock, indie, world, folk and other musical styles emphasizing improvisation and groove. The festival brings nationally and internationally recognized artists to PEI as well as spotlighting local and regional artists.
Concerts are timed so that festival-goers can attend everything, with no need to miss a concert because it conflicts with something else. Take a short drive to the fabulous Summerside waterfront mid-week for the "Vector Blues Bash”. All other concerts take place a stone’s throw away from each other in downtown Charlottetown. Our Charlottetown venues are historic St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Murphy’s Community Centre, the clubs of Victoria Row and the prestigious Homburg Theatre. Each venue neighbours the historic grounds of Province House, the birthplace of Confederation. Our Summerside concert is held in a club setting at "The Shipyard" on the beautiful Summerside waterfront.
Our festival prides itself on providing great value to music fans. Whatever your musical tastes you will find world-class performances being offered at affordable prices. Individual concerts are a great deal, but you best option is to get a pass and go to everything!
