Top 10 Things To Do In Charlottetown This Summer 32

1. Get Out on the Water
Is there anything more refreshing than getting out on the water on a hot day? Try your hand at flyboarding or hoverboarding with Explore More Watersports. Or get up close and personal to the Charlottetown Harbour with kayak and stand-up paddleboard rentals at Paddles. If cruising the harbour by boat sounds like bliss, you’re in luck. There are plenty of tours departing from Peake’s Wharf and the SeaPort Marina, including a land-and-sea tour of the city aboard the amphibious Harbour Hippo, a seal watching excursion with Peake’s Wharf Boat Tours, a lobster fishing experience with Top Notch Tours, or an eco-friendly option with Sol Paddle Tavern or Ride Solar.

(For more ways to live the coastal vibe in the city, stay tuned for our City Life, Coastal Vibes blog).

2. Hit the Row
Whether it’s an afternoon shopping spree or an evening patio drink, Victoria Row has it all in one block. Start your day off with an iced latte from Receiver Coffee Co, and once caffeinated, shop til’ you drop! Green Eye Designs, Kuriosities, Urban Daisy (open Saturdays), Crow’s Nest, Northern Watters Knitwear, Bayberry Lane, and Details Fine Art Gallery make it easy to empty your wallet and fill your bags. The sun begins to set and you’re enjoying your favourite food & beverage on the patio of John Brown Grille, Receiver Coffee Co. (with a brand new dinner menu!) or Fishbones, with live music performed by local musicians on the TD Always On Stage… what more could you ask for?

3. Take in a Show
The performance arts are a not-to-miss aspect while visiting Charlottetown. Kick back, relax, and take in a show at The Guild, Confederation Centre of The Arts, Florence Simmons Performance Hall, The Mack, and City Cinema.

This summer, check out The Charlottetown Festival, the largest musical theatre festival in Atlantic Canada since 1965 – with indoor & outdoor performances this year!

4. Get Your Selfie On
Capture your memories with Charlottetown’s picture-esque views at every street and corner. Check out the Lobster Mural on Great George Street, pose with the 2022 sign on the waterfront at the bottom of Queen Street, stroll by the colourful and historic buildings on Great George Street, get an iconic COWS ice cream shot, and so much more. ‘Cause we’re all doing it for the ‘gram, right?

5. A Patio (or Two) a Day
What’s the #1 reason to stay in Charlottetown? This summer, it may as well be the incredible outdoor dining scene that takes the cake. With nearly 50 patios within walking distance, it’s hard to pick favourites, but some of our frequent stops include Fishies On The Roof, Next Door, The Gallery, and the Charlottetown Beer Garden. Patio hoppin’, anyone?

(But there’s too many to choose from! Let us help you decide with our Dining Al Fresco blog- your guide to Charlottetown’s outdoor eats)

6. To The Market, We Go
What’s a better way to spend a sunny Saturday or Sunday morning than a little trip to the market? Shop all things local, delicious, artisan, and more at the Charlottetown Farmer’s Market, Kent Street Market, the Downtown Farmers Market, and Founder’s Food Hall & Market.

Or, gather a group and check out Ride Solar, a solar-powered, licensed pedal bus tour or Sol Paddle Tavern, a cyle & solar-powered leisure boat departing from the Charlottetown Yacht Club.
