145 Richmond Street,
Charlottetown, PE

Henry Purdy, 1972

This commissioned sculpture commemorates Prince Edward Island’s entry into Confederation in 1873. The artist’s imposing welded steel sculpture used a modernist vocabulary where the conjoined vertical elements are arranged in a circle to symbolize strength in unity.
