Taking place October 8th – 24th, 2021, the largest scarecrow festival in Atlantic Canada will take over Prince Edward Island’s seaside city. Set against the backdrop of Charlottetown’s colourful and historic buildings, hundreds of scarecrow installations will line the streets, gather on street corners, pop up in shop windows, and surprise you in other unexpected ways.
Created out of a desire to spark (Covid-friendly) joy in those darker, more uncertain days in early fall 2020, the Charlottetown Scarecrow Festival was born. It triumphantly returns this October just in time to bring moments of wonder and festive fun back to the downtown core. Anyone who attended last year knows how fantastical the city felt with over 300 hundred scarecrows. This year we mean it when we say it will be bigger and better, with 1,000 artisan scarecrows set to be placed around the city.
