Katherine Cairns is a comedian, writer, and actor from Prince Edward Island. She once lived in Ontario but was forced to leave due to “lack of easy access to North Atlantic waters.” An avid Groundhog Day enthusiast, she is in the process of sourcing a woodchuck – any and all leads will be considered! Her quick wit, dry sense of humor, and retail employee burnout earned her the only PEI nomination for 2019’s CBC Hubcap Comedy Festival Amateur Contest. In 2020, she opened for James Mullinger on the big screen at the Brackley Beach Drive-in Comedy Festival. She can be heard as Mustard Pickle Granny on the podcast series Amazing Tales of the Atlantic, taped live at the Guild in Charlottetown. Katherine performs stand-up around the Maritimes and also produces PEI’s biweekly stand-up comedy show The Comedy Lab out of Baba’s Lounge in Charlottetown.
