The Guild is excited to announce our 2023 Summer Festival, a season of programming to both engage and entertain audiences of all ages. Under the Artistic Direction of Christopher Wilson, the Guild is proud to contribute to Charlottetown’s rich performing arts landscape.

The season begins with SIMPLY SONDHEIM, a musical celebration of the late Broadway composer, Stephen Sondheim. Sondheim’s musical works have become an intrinsic part of the musical theatre canon and include productions such as Into The Woods, Company, A Little Night Music, Sweeney Todd, and Merrily We Roll Along. This musical revue will feature Sondheim’s iconic compositions in an intimate cabaret setting. Performers include Jessica Gallant, Rebecca Guilderson, Hugh Ritchie, Braeden Woods, and is accompanied by Jennifer Cullen. SIMPLY SONDHEIM runs June 28 – July 15 (select dates).

The season continues with a family production, THE HAPPY PRINCE, based upon the children’s short story by Oscar Wilde. This poignant and award-winning one-act Canadian musical is a timeless tale about friendship, compassion, and the transforming power of selfless love. Performers include Caroline Burton, Rebecca Guilderson, Melissa MacKenize, and is accompanied by Morgan Saulnier. THE HAPPY PRINCE runs August 10 – 19 (select dates).

The Guild will also be presenting a Friday evening late-night cabaret series entitled MUSICAL MAYHEM. These performances will feature professional musical theatre talents, Queer artists, local musicians, and incorporate various themes within our programming. MUSICAL MAYHEM presents Fridays, July 14, 21, 28, August 11, 18, 25 (10:30pm – 11:30pm).
