For the second year in a row Old Home Week, an annual signature festival (since 1888) in Charlottetown that celebrates Prince Edward Island’s agriculture and way of life, is unable to take place in its traditional format. Instead, Country Days presented by Old Home Week, an in-person celebration is taking place within the existing Old Home Week dates (August 13-21, 2021), through safe and CPHO-approved programming. Attendees can experience traditional Old Home Week vibes through events including themed photo opportunities, live music on various stages, alfresco learn-to-line dance classes, horse & wagon rides, ‘Hayloft Patios’, pony rides, a petting zoo, and more. An Old Home Week ‘must’ is visiting Red Shores Racetrack & Casino to take in the harness racing, while the Gold Cup & Saucer Parade is beloved by both Islanders and visitors.
Old Home Week is a quintessential Charlottetown experience that celebrates the Island’s deep agricultural roots and its rich history of harness racing; it’s sure to be loved by all ages. The 10-day event typically features amusement park rides, children’s entertainers, a kids’ zone, livestock shows, and much more. Of course, there’s plenty to keep the adults entertained as well including talented Island musicians and a lively marketplace.
