Charlottetown is a city where stunning landscapes, friendly locals, and a strong sense of place are reflected in everything you can buy. From pottery inspired by the coast to handcrafted jewellery, visual art, and thoughtfully curated fashion, the city’s vibrant shops are filled with one-of-a-kind treasures waiting to be discovered.
This pedestrian-only block blends lively patios with boutique shopping. Pop into Green Eye Designs, Kuriosities and Crow’s Nest, Northern Watters Knitwear & Tartan Shop, and Details Fine Art Gallery for some of the city’s most distinctive pieces.
Many Water Street shops are owner-operated, so it’s not uncommon to meet the maker behind the counter. Discover original creations at Moonsnail Soapworks and the PEI Crafts Council Retail Gallery then pop into The Chocolate Chicken for a gallery of exhibits of the beloved classic children’s author Phoebe Gilman.
Tucked along this vibrant street are an array of small boutiques and welcoming shopkeepers. Must-visits include SWENN, The Cook’s Edge, Town City, Isla Boutique, SeaHouse, KC Clothing, Luxury Market Consignment Boutique, The Anne of Green Gables Store, Lady Slipper, JEMS Boutique, Eastwood Ave. Menswear, and The Root Cellar.
Housed in a historic train repair shop on the waterfront, this urban market is now a hotspot for local, beautiful, and delicious finds. Nearly 20 vendors offer everything from artisanal foods to handcrafted goods, perfect for shopping and snacking under one roof.
Downtown shopping with everything from clothing and home decor at Luna Eclectic Emporium to specialty oils at Liquid Gold and local groceries at Kent Street Market.
